Test printing on some non-expensive papers sold as "Japanese paper" in the Netherlands on april 2022

A: Tosa Shi
54g / 45,5 x 61cm / 40% rayon, 60% pulp / pH 6.7? / machinemade
https://www.gerstaecker.nl/Tosa-Shi-Japans-papier-54g.html
ATTENTION! Some information in Dutch in this shop site seems to be not correct, or  it maybe makes you misunderstanding from the text.

Here the info about Tosa Shi.
Paper originating from Tosa (a province in Kochi Prefecture). Tosa Shi mean Paper of Tosa. It is a good inexpensive alternative to the 100% kozo sheets which we call Tosa Washi, though there are many different kind of Tosa Washi. Wa-shi mean Japanese paper. Tosa Shi is a pure white Japanese paper made from rayon (40%) and pulpene (60%). The paper is pH neutral and aging resistant with a fairly coarse texture on one side, smooth on the other. Tosa Shi can be used for painting and printmaking. You could print on the smooth side of paper in general. I recomend for beginner, student or amateur. But remember, Japanese papers made from 100 % Japanese Kozo are not cheap but very good quality.

B: Hosokawa (Hosokawa ivory)

Thai Kozo (80%) + Pulp (20%) / pH 7.5 / handmade ?

C: Ino Shi

* this paper was not really suitable for the tracing/transfer of image onto wooden plate.

https://www.gerstaecker.nl/Inoshi-Japans-batikpapier-18g.html

Japanese Kozo (30%)+ Manila Hemp (70%) / pH 6.5 / machinemade

White batik paper with a matte surface. The paper is made of long fibres, is porous, absorbent and very tough/strong in relation to the weight. This Japanese fiber paper is particularly suitable for paper batik. The paper is easy to fold. The folds can also be ironed out of the paper again.

D: Sekishu Shi * not real Sekishu Washi

https://www.gerstaecker.nl/Sekishu-Shi-Japans-papier-31g.html

Thai Kozo (90%)+ Pulp (10%) / pH 7.2 / machinemade?
